Therapeutic Approach
“Be Curious,
Not Judgmental”
- Walt Whitman/Ted Lasso
My view is that therapy works best when it happens inside a real relationship. My work draws from mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, attachment, and trauma-informed theories, not applied as a one-size-fits-all formula, but woven together to fit you.
What This Looks Like in Practice
I show up as myself. Who you get in session is reflective of who I am in my everyday life, humor, empathy, and all. Therapy with me doesn't feel clinical or stiff. You deserve to feel at ease and accepted exactly as you are, free to be honest without judgment. I bring warmth and patience too, because laughter and lightness are just as much a part of healing as the harder moments. That real connection is the foundation everything else is built on.
❋ Increased Self-Understanding & Acceptance
From there, we get curious together. We work on building self-awareness and self-acceptance, so you can see yourself with more clarity and less judgment. We also look at how your past shapes your present, tracing the line from early experiences to how you think, feel, and act today. We identify patterns that once protected you but may not serve you anymore, and we explore how the lessons you learned early in life shape the way you talk to yourself, show up in relationships, and handle stress. When you understand these patterns well enough to stop being run by them, you can start rewriting your story.
❋ A Real, Honest Relationship
❋ Practical and Actionable Tools
Growth happens when empathy is balanced with gentle challenge, and when insight turns into action. That's why we don't stop at understanding what's driving these patterns; we also build practical skills you can use in everyday life. This includes tools for managing big emotions in the moment, strategies for easing anxiety that are tailored to how it shows up for you, and communication skills that help you set boundaries and express your needs clearly. Over time, these tools become second nature, carrying you well beyond our sessions together.
